The term real estate is basically a legal term which refers to a number of things including the land, and anything which has been permanently attached to the ground, property that is not moving or does not change its location. The law related to the field of business is known as real estate law, and this is a body which has a number of legal codes as well as regulations. These legal codes and regulations refer to such issues which belong to a particular area.

Real property and real estate are usually considered to be synonymous. Real property is also known as realty, but both real estate and realty are different from what is known as personal property.
